Hello and thank you for joining us on today’s podcast!

In this episode we’re diving into the topic of adding weight to your cardio routines and is this a good idea?

Cardio exercises are a great way to get your heart rate up and burn calories. However if you feel like you ever want to “up the intensity” is it a good idea to add weight to your cardio exercises? Everyone is build differently and we are all at different levels of fitness. Adding weight can help you “get more” out of your cardio exercises but only if done correctly and under the right circumstances.

Luckily Meredith is here to help guide us down this path and shares some insight into things to consider when adding weights to your cardio workouts.

In This Podcast You Will Learn:

1). How the feedback and questions we receive about adding weight to cardio routines has made us want to share this topic and give more insight into how to go about doing so using SF videos.

2). Why making sure safety and form should be the most important factors to consider when adding weight so as to avoid any unnecessary injury.

3). The differences between using weights for upper body movement during cardio and lower body weights (ankle weights etc) and Meredith’s best recommendation on which is the safest to consider.

4). Meredith’s recommendations and tips on how to incorporate weight into your cardio workouts in the safest manner.

5). Meredith’s suggestions on a weekly workout schedule that incorporates a cardio/weight workout yet maintains a good resistance and cardio balance.
