Podcast 74 – Coping With Stress And The Importance Of Stress Management

P

senior fitness with meredith

Greetings and thank you for joining us for this week’s podcast!

This week we’re discussing useful ways to cope with, identify stress and stress management techniques. It’s no surprise that we all deal with stress many over and if not addressed appropriately, it can easily take over our lives.

In addition, we all deal with stress differently. This is based on our different backgrounds, life experiences and more. The main message to remember is that stress happens to all of us but it doesn’t have to run our lives. Getting a handle on the things that cause us stress is so important and we all deserve a peaceful life. We cannot control nor stop stress but we can control how we respond to it.

In This Podcast You Will Learn:

1). Why we sometimes feel that when we age, we will have less to worry about and how this is a misconception as seniors have just as much stress (if not more) than most other generations.

2). Some examples of the things that cause stress in seniors and how they create real world problems that contribute to worrying and all of the issues that come along with it.

3). Some helpful ways to identify the signs of stress in someone you know or love and why it’s important to be aware of them as to avoid worse issues down the road.

4). How regular exercise is a great way to help manage stress as the body responds to chemical endorphins to help lift your mood and spirit during physical activity.

5). Meredith’s thoughts on meditation and how it can also be a good way to help relieve stress by taking a few minutes a day to relax and help “de-clutter” your mind.
