This week we wanted to discuss an important topic that we think gets overlooked when it comes to this time of year. Dealing with feelings of loneliness especially during the holidays.
This year has brought many challenges to all of us and with lockdowns in effect all over the globe, feelings of isolation and being alone are higher than ever in any age but also in our seniors. Being that the COVID virus has high risk factors in senior populations, this has forced many in this age group to stay home and shelter the longest.
In doing so, it has created feelings of isolation amongst many all across the world. It is now more than ever, so important to make sure we stay healthy not only physically but mentally as well. Finding ways to cope with loneliness is the best way to stay healthy mentally and to also recognize signs in others who may be struggling as well.
