Greetings and welcome to another episode of the Senior Fitness Podcast with Meredith. 
In this episode, Meredith discusses yoga and how it can benefit the body and mind at any age.

 In today’s world yoga has become much more accepted as a form of exercise and is seen as another great way to strengthen your body and mind.

 For our senior generation, there is really no better time than now to try yoga. There are moves and modifications to traditional poses that are specifically designed to feel comfortable for seniors, even if you are seated.

If you’ve ever been curious about what all the hype is about or are just wanting to try something new then this episode is for you.

In This Podcast You Will Learn:

1). How yoga has become much more accepted as a fitness exercise for people of all ages and some of the misconceptions that mislead folks to think that yoga isn’t for them. You can do it too!
2). Why practicing yoga correctly has the ability to relax your body as well as provide strengthening and cardio all in one.
3). How yoga can benefit our senior generation (ages 65+) in the same way that younger generations benefit but by using more focused poses and routines specifically tailored to this age group. 
4). How yoga is not only standing and posing but can also be done in a chair or tailored to your comfort level so you can benefit from it no matter what physical limitations you may have.
5). Some recommendations on how often you should incorporate yoga into your weekly schedule.

There are moves and positions that can be utilized by seniors to give you the same strength in your body and restfulness of the mind.

 Practicing yoga on a regular basis and adding it to your workouts is a great way to give you body new ways to strengthen itself to provide balance and stability it needs and uses everyday.
