Stress is something that everyone deals with and how we handle it can depend on many factors. One of the best ways to handle stress is by exercising regularly but this may not always be an option for everyone. What if you aren’t on a regular exercise schedule or are unable to exercise due to a limitation, injury or other reasons?
Fortunately, there are many other ways to “dial down” stress levels that don’t necessarily mean having to hit the gym every time you feel stressed out.
In This Episode You Will Learn:
1). Meredith’s thoughts and experiences on why relieving and addressing stress levels in general is so important to our mental and physical health.
2). How stress can build up over time especially as we age and how we may not notice the effects of it until later on in life.
3). Meredith’s experiences in working with seniors in living communities and how they were great at scheduling outings and social times with residents, something that is very important to relieving stress.
4). How maintaining a healthy diet can help contribute to lower stress levels.
5). Why writing down our thoughts and feelings when we are stressed can help “download” the burdens we have and make us feel less stressed and more organized.
We hope the tips and suggestions in this episode help you manage stress in your life especially if regular exercise isn’t available. We all have different schedules that we must navigate and making sure exercise is a part of that is important but not always possible.
If you feel like this may be your situation or know someone in this scenario then we want you to know that there are still many other ways to take care of your mental health and address lingering stress.
Staying healthy both physically and mentally through regular self care are the most important aspects to a longer healthy life.
