Cognitive Disability Fitness is an exercise program that goes at a slower pace, still while keeping it safe, effective, and fun. It is perfect for anyone, especially those needing a slower paced workout due to Alzheimer’s or other dementias, stroke, and more. They are great workouts to incorporate into a daily routine if the participant is at home, or in memory care or an assisted living community.
In this exercise video Meredith is guiding you through an easy to follow range of motion workout using an air ball for added resistance. Air ball exercises are great for building strength and flexibility in a safe and effective manner. Light resistance from the ball adds more of a challenge when going through the range of full body motions.
This is a full seated exercise focused on slower movements for those who may have challenges with cognitive disabilities. Remember to only do movements that you are comfortable with and that don’t cause any pain or discomfort. Take water breaks when needed and have a great workout!
