In this quick 5 minute workout Meredith is guiding through a safe HIIT style exercise using light weights for added resistance. HIIT workouts (High Intensity Interval Training) are great for both building up your cardiovascular system and for adding strength and stability.  They incorporate interval periods of “rest” and “work” in a short period of time to keep your heart rate up and pumping.

This particular routine features the use of light hand weights which are optional. Light weights add more of a challenge and we recommend only using them if you feel comfortable with your fitness level. This is an intermediate level exercise so be sure to preview the workout in full if you are unsure of your level of fitness.

Remember to only do movements that you are comfortable with and that don’t cause any pain or discomfort. Keep your water close by and take breaks when you need to.
