In this exercise video Meredith is guiding you through a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) style workout using light weight dumbbells for added resistance.

HIIT exercises are comprised of periods of “Works” and “Rest”. This stop and start rhythm is good for your cardiovascular system and heart health as it challenges your body to keep your heart rate elevated during this time. Adding light weight dumbbells also adds the aspect of strength training for a full rounded workout.  This is an all standing exercise aimed at an intermediate level of fitness so be sure to preview this video if you are unsure of your level of fitness.

Remember to only do movements that you are comfortable with and that don’t cause any pain or discomfort. Take breaks when you need to and keep your water close by.
